Thursday, 6/6/24 – Defender Session

***BEFORE STARTING ANY DRYFIRE TRAINING, DOUBLE & TRIPLE CHECK THAT YOUR GUNS & MAGAZINES ARE EMPTY. NO LIVE AMMO SHOULD BE IN YOUR TRAINING AREA.***

Pistol

  1. Trigger Control At Speed, 10 reps
  2. Stepping Draws, 10 reps (Goal: 1.3 sec)
    • Reload the gun while taking 1 step in various directions like you’re standing in the middle of a clock
  3. Reloads, 5 reps (Goal: 1.5 sec)
  4. Barricade Practice, 10 reps 
    • Setup: see diagram above
    • On the buzzer, move from Position A or Position B to behind the barricade and engage the paper targets with 2 rounds each and steel poppers with 1 round
    • Array 1 must be shot from the left side of the barricade and Array 2 must be shot from the right side of the barricade

Rifle

  1. Trigger Control At Speed, 10 reps
  2. Ready-ups (High), 10 reps (Goal: 0.8 sec)
  3. Reloads, 5 reps (Goal: 2.5 sec)
  4. Barricade Practice, 10 reps
    • Ensure that you’re actuating the safety while transitioning the gun behind the barricade
