Pistol
- Trigger Control At Speed (WHO), 20 reps
- Draws, 20 reps (Goal: 0.7 sec)
- Reloads, 20 reps (1.0 sec)
- Prop Manipulation, 8-10 mins
- Setup: See diagram above; Place an empty ammo can next to Shooting Position A
- On the buzzer, move the ammo can from SP A to SP B while engaging all targets (2 rounds on paper & 1 on steel)
- Alternate starting at both Shooting Positions
- Alternate shooting the course of fire while holding the ammo can the entire time and by putting down the ammo can each time you intend to shoot. This particular exercise isn’t necessarily about finding the fastest method but to get comfortable with being uncomfortable; there’s also great mental value in remaining patient and disciplined while “feeling” slow.
- Props are often used by Match Directors to distract shooters from the actual act of shooting; the goal when dealing with props is to deal with them as smoothly and efficiently as possible so that you can get back to shooting
